At the age of 10 Mike first saw the music video for Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five’s - The Message on MTV. At age 16 he went to his first show at the infamous Chicago venue the Fireside Bowl. At the age of 17 he discovered the iconic album art of Bad Brains, Nas, Agnostic Front, Gang Starr, Black Flag, Raekwon and realized there’s a profession in creating album art. At age 18 he attended his first design class. At age 23 he was first exposed to the Swiss Typography journals ‘Typographische Monatsblätter’ which emanated his design ideation and visual language to this day. At age 24 he started his first design job and never looked back.
Mike holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Columbia College Chicago. He’s worked with a diverse range of clients that include: The Philadelphia Eagles, DIY Print Shop, Craftsman Tools, Redbox, AT&T, Phillip Morris USA/Marlboro, John Middleton Co./Black & Mild.
